Abstract The city of Tamanrasset exhibits a notable multilingualism, where various languages interact, expanding and contracting according to the linguistic market in which they are deployed. Among the most prominent languages in the market of spontaneous everyday communication is Algerian Arabic (Darja), which shares this market with several other languages, most notably Tamaheq (Tuareg). Therefore, this research seeks to answer the following questions: What are the specific linguistic features of Algerian Arabic in Tamanrasset that distinguish it from other regional dialects across the country? And what are the boundaries of its usage, particularly within the market of informal conversations alongside other languages, specifically Tamaheq, the indigenous Amazigh variant of the region? The research concludes that the Algerian Arabic dialect in Tamanrasset is distinguished from other national dialects by several phonetic, lexical, and sociolinguistic features. Furthermore, it heavily dominates daily conversational language, increasingly threatening the Tamaheq language, which historically dominated this linguistic market
