Digital Information And Communication Technology At The University: The Transformation Of The Professional Identity Of The University Professor

Résumé

This research paper aims to shed light on the problem of transformations in the professional identity of university professors and analyze it within the framework of the ongoing debate about the digital transformation of the universities in Algeria, distance education. The importance of the paper lies in highlighting the most prominent challenges facing the Algerian university in building an integrated digital professional identity for university professors. The descriptive analytical approach was relied upon to determine the conceptual, educational, and professional dimensions, resulting from this transformation by reading and reviewing the relevant scientific literature. The results indicate that the re-engineering of the university professor’s profession is due to digitization, which plays a role in transforming it from a traditional pedagogical actor to a digital pedagogical actor, with the existence of structural obstacles that impede achieving this transformation, centered around the weakness of the institutional digital formation.
