This paper seeks to analyze the trajectories of crises within countries and societies. The study is based on the hypothesis that the sociology of crisis extends beyond the levels of democratization achieved by these entities. It examines the degree of institutionalization of their political systems and their effectiveness. Furthermore, it considers the capacity of these systems to resist and endure crises, whether through preemptive measures or practical actions implemented following the exacerbation of such crises. The empirical investigation of the COVID-19 crisis serves as a comprehensive assessment of the quality and resilience of global institutions, the efficacy of decision-making processes, and the evaluation of governance systems, political structures, and the extent of institutionalization. An in-depth analysis of statistical data, specifically the number of deaths in various countries relative to income levels, reveals a significant disparity in outcomes, as suggested by sociological findings.
