This paper aims to examine the ‘speech act’ and its role in shaping communicative mechanisms, by introducing the concepts and processes that govern speech production mechanisms according to different communicative purposes. It focuses on the realised discourse structure of sentences, based on the principle of semantic and pragmatic construction relating to the speaker producing various discourses. This rhetorical act is considered an important element in many functional discursive works; it is any utterance based on a formal, semantic, performative and affective system, that relies on speech acts that seek to achieve performative purposes and affective goals concerning the recipient’s reactions.
