Résumé

This study analyzes the impact of financial liberalisation on Algeria’s economic growth from 1990–2024 using the ARDL model. Results show that inflation is the only significant long-run determinant of GDP growth. A 1% increase in inflation raises GDP by 2.99%, reflecting demand effects from public spending. In the short run, money supply, private credit, and trade openness affect growth with a one-year lag. The Error Correction Term confirms a stable long-run relationship with a 40.76% adjustment speed. Granger causality reveals a one-way link from inflation to GDP. The study recommends improving credit allocation toward productive sectors to achieve sustainable and diversified growth.
