Algeria has adopted a set of policies and strategies aimed at achieving development across various fields. However, the success of these strategies remains dependent on the state’s ability to adapt to the regional and international changes surrounding it, Algeria, as a state, is also affected by external variables. Therefore, it must adapt and adopt a course of action that enables it to address the transformations taking place in the region. This is clearly reflected in its foreign policy. Since external variables have a greater impact and play a significant role in determining the country’s development trajectory, Algeria has been required to take measures aimed, on the one hand, at promoting development and, on the other hand, at strengthening its regional position and role. This may explain its efforts to confer a developmental dimension upon its foreign policy.
