The Dark Side Of Entrepreneurship: Rethinking Responsibility In Modern Business Practices

Résumé

The purpose of this study is to investigate the dark sides of entrepreneurship and the unethical business conduct that causes negative effects on society. Although entrepreneurship plays an important role in promoting economic growth, it can cause adverse effects on society, and on the environment, if it lacks ethics. This research uses a conceptual perspective in its examination of the potential adverse effects of being profit-oriented and the reasons why corporations exploit labor, destroy the environment, and lack proper accountability. In addition, this research reveals that many companies follow the rules only because they must do so and not because they wish to. Finally, this paper highlights the significance of responsible entrepreneurship, which includes balancing economic, environmental, and social considerations.
