Textual thresholds are among the critical concepts that have contributed to rethinking the nature of the literary text and its boundaries. The text is no longer read as a closed entity, but rather as an open structure surrounded by a set of textual and visual signs that precede it, accompany it, and guide its reception. The French critic Gérard Genette played a central role in consolidating this concept through his book Paratexts, in which he considered the title, cover, prefaces, images, and other elements as zones of passage between the text and the reader.
