This contribution addresses the issue of youth in Algeria from an economic perspective. The youth equation, which is not unique to Algeria, is problematic in the sense that young people have never established themselves as decisive social actors and thus remain marginalized in society (hence the feelings of dissatisfaction and injustice). This reality has led to specific behaviors among Algerian youth, particularly informal employment. This contribution also highlights various attempts at youth integration policies that have not yielded the expected results.
