Résumé

تحضر المرأة في رواية وادي الظلام حضورًا دلاليًا عميقًا يتجاوز البعد السردي السطحي، لتغدو عنصرًا فاعلًا في تشكيل الرؤية الفكرية والإنسانية للنص، فهي لا تُقدَّم بوصفها شخصية هامشية، بل باعتبارها محورًا يعكس توترات المجتمع وتحولاته. تتجلى المرأة في الرواية في صور متعددة؛ فهي الأم الحاضنة التي ترمز إلى الاستمرارية والحياة، وهي كذلك المرأة المعانِية التي تكابد القهر الاجتماعي والنفسي، مما يعكس واقعًا مثقلًا بالقيود والتحديات. كما تظهر أحيانًا في صورة المرأة القوية التي تقاوم الظروف وتسعى إلى إثبات ذاتها داخل فضاء يغلب عليه الطابع الذكوري. ABSTRACT: The presence of women in the novel *Valley of Darkness* is profoundly symbolic, transcending the superficial narrative dimension to become an active element in shaping the intellectual and humanistic vision of the text. She is not presented as a marginal character, but rather as a pivotal figure reflecting the tensions and transformations of society. Women appear in the novel in multiple guises: as the nurturing mother, symbolizing continuity and life; as the suffering woman enduring social and psychological oppression, reflecting a reality burdened by restrictions and challenges; and sometimes as the strong woman who resists circumstances and strives to assert herself within a predominantly patriarchal space.
