Résumé

The literary studies have multiplied, especially in recent times, between what has been brought forth from the ancient literary heritage by modern critics and writers. This is due to the numerous studies conducted by modern scholars (Orientalists), who have engaged with these studies. Among the most important modern studies is the "Lamiyyat al-Arab," from which we have received some of the most beautiful poetic verses that elevate it to a significant level; it is considered akin to an anthem of the desert. This is reflected in what the rebellious poets (Sahaliq) left behind in terms of pride in their heroism and their existence in that harsh nature. From this, we can say that the "Lamiyyat al-Arab" gained considerable popularity within literary circles, which made it stand out during the pre-Islamic era and transformed it into a specific and general phenomenon due to the strength and literary magnificence it brought forth. It was articulated by Al-Shanfarā, a rebellious poet who lived on the fringes of the tribe, but that marginality turned him into a poet and a rogue feared by the Arab tribes. Various tribes had differing opinions about him, with each describing him as a thief and a highwayman, and thus the literature of the Sahaliq emerged. The phenomenon of Sahalqa is considered an integral part of Arab life during the pre-Islamic era, manifesting all its characteristics among certain Sudanese Arab tribes in particular. We can see that the movement of the Sahaliq witnessed in pre-Islamic society.
