This study investigates the economic and socio-cultural dimensions of the relationship between Algeria and the United Kingdom (UK) in the aftermath of Brexit, the UK's withdrawal from the European Union. A qualitative content analysis was employed to examine this evolving bilateral relationship. The analysis draws on a wide range of sources, including scholarly articles, news reports, previous academic studies, and official publications from both the Algerian and British governments. The findings indicate that prior to Brexit, relations between the two countries were relatively limited and focused primarily on trade in hydrocarbons, mechanical equipment, and related goods. Following Brexit, however, both countries sought to strengthen their partnership by expanding cooperation into new strategic sectors, particularly renewable energy and technological innovation. As with any bilateral partnership, several political, economic, and institutional challenges may hinder the development of closer ties. To address these challenges, Algeria and the UK have broadened their cooperation beyond trade by promoting collaboration in the military, educational, and socio-cultural fields, thereby reinforcing their economic partnership. This historical analysis provides valuable insights into the emerging dynamics of post-Brexit Algerian–British relations and highlights the potential implications of Brexit for future bilateral cooperation.
