Abstract: Museums are non-profit educational institutions dedicated to collecting and preserving human heritage for educational, cultural, and community purposes. Beyond storing valuable objects, they function as centers for cultural identity, intellectual development, and social engagement. Al-Hillah hosts four museums, the most prominent of which is the Hillah Contemporary Museum. Its collections include Babylonian and historical antiquities, folklore, art, political and military artifacts, currency, and documents. Established in 2014 through the efforts of Prof. Ali Abdul Jalil Shaabath and his family, the museum has received significant support from the Department of Antiquities and World Heritage, the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, and Babylon Governorate. It has become a key destination for local and international visitors. This study examines the role of the Abdul Jalil family in founding the museum and preserving its collections, highlighting their contribution to safeguarding Hillah’s heritage for future generations
