In management science, choosing a research methodology is an essential and complex step in the scientific process. It requires rigorous reflection aimed at identifying the epistemological stance and methodological approaches best suited to the research objectives. From this perspective, this article analyzes the epistemological and methodological foundations of research in management science, highlighting the main paradigms and the distinctions between quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches. It also offers a reflection on the factors likely to influence a researcher's methodological choices, particularly the specific characteristics of management research and its epistemological positioning.
