This study investigated the relationship between attitudes toward the teaching profession and self-esteem among the Institute of Science and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities (ISTAPS), University of Laghouat. A stratified proportional sample of 98 students was selected from a population of 987. Data were collected using validated questionnaires measuring attitudes toward teaching and self-esteem, and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Results revealed a strong positive correlation (r = 0.64, p < .05) between attitudes toward the teaching profession and self-esteem. All three dimensions of attitudes demonstrated significant positive correlations with self-esteem. The regression model explained 38% of the variance in self-esteem scores (R² = 0.388, F = 13.309, p < .001). These findings underscore the importance of fostering positive professional attitudes during teacher preparation programs, as attitudes are closely linked to students' self-esteem and their effectiveness in teaching. The study supports theoretical frameworks emphasizing the relationship between professional self-concept and psychological adjustment in teacher education.
