Abstract: This article examines the impact of successive civilizations on the Central Maghreb prior to the Islamic conquest from a social perspective, through an analysis of the legacies these civilizations left within the structure of local society despite the disappearance of their political authority. The study is grounded in the hypothesis that historical transformations were not erased with the collapse of ruling powers, but rather accumulated socially in the form of behavioral patterns, power relations, and mental representations of governance and integration. Adopting a historical–sociological approach, the article analyzes the pre-Islamic phases and demonstrates that the recurrence of external domination hindered the formation of a stable local state, while simultaneously contributing to the preparation of society for a subsequent historical transformation.
