Abstract: This study examines the transformation of the "Qabala" (tax farming) system in Andalusia during the Taifa period (11th century / 5th century AH) into an oppressive tax collection tool, driven by the pressure to pay tribute ("Parias") to Christian kingdoms. This situation led to the privatization of tax collection and the exploitation of the subjects, resulting in an economic crisis and a complete rift between the ruling authority and society. Consequently, Islamic jurists (Fuqaha) withdrew their religious legitimacy from the rulers, which accelerated the fall of the Taifas and paved the way for the Almoravid intervention under the banner of financial reform and the abolition of illegal taxes.
