Arabic Linguistics In The Light Of Western Thought: Paths Of Influence And Adoption

Abstract
This article explores the concept and development of Arabic linguistics and examines the influence of modern Western linguistic thought on the study of the Arabic language. It begins by clarifying the meaning of linguistics and its equivalents in different languages, emphasizing its role as the scientific study of language and the systems that organize its structure. The study also highlights the efforts made by Arab linguists to establish Arabic linguistics as a modern academic field by introducing contemporary linguistic theories and adapting them to the analysis of Arabic. The article further discusses the interaction between the classical Arabic linguistic heritage and modern linguistic approaches, particularly the descriptive, foundational, and interpretive trends. It sheds light on the contributions of several Arab scholars who played an important role in developing modern linguistic studies of Arabic. This interaction has enriched Arabic linguistic research and opened it to modern scientific methodologies while preserving the unique features and richness of the Arabic language. The study concludes that the development of Arabic linguistics reflects a continuous dialogue between the Arabic linguistic heritage and contemporary linguistic thought يتناول هذا المقال مفهوم اللسانيات العربية وتطورها، مع إبراز أثر اللسانيات الغربية الحديثة في دراسة اللغة العربية. ويبدأ بتوضيح معنى اللسانيات ومقابلات هذا المصطلح في اللغات المختلفة، مع التأكيد على كونها علمًا يهتم بدراسة اللغة دراسة علمية تكشف عن بنيتها وأنظمتها الداخلية. كما يتطرق المقال إلى الجهود التي بذلها اللسانيون العرب في ترسيخ هذا المجال المعرفي، وذلك من خلال نقل النظريات اللسانية الحديثة وتكييفها مع دراسة اللغة العربية. كما يناقش البحث أوجه التفاعل بين التراث اللغوي العربي والمناهج اللسانية المعاصرة، خاصة الاتجاهات الوصفية والتأصيلية والتفسيرية، مبرزًا إسهامات عدد من الباحثين العرب في تطوير الدرس اللساني الحديث. وقد أسهم هذا التفاعل في إغناء الدراسات اللغوية العربية، وجعلها أكثر انفتاحًا على المناهج العلمية الحديثة، مع الحفاظ في الوقت نفسه على خصوصية اللغة العربية وثرائها. ويخلص المقال إلى أن تطور اللسانيات العربية يمثل نتاج تفاعل مستمر بين التراث اللغوي العربي والفكر اللساني المعاصر.
