Abstract : Creativity is considered one of the qualities most closely associated with the human mind, as it is the product of complex mental processes that are unique to humans. However, with the emergence of generative artificial intelligence systems, which have imposed themselves in various fields, including intellectual property rights, the door has been opened wide to the possibility of extending the attribute of creativity and authorship to non-humans. From this standpoint, this research paper aims to highlight the extent to which the attribute of authorship can be bestowed upon artificial intelligence systems and the recognition of the latter's intellectual property rights for the works and compositions they generate. This is achieved by demonstrating the extent to which current legal texts on copyright can deal with works and compositions generated by artificial intelligence systems, through studying and analyzing legal, jurisprudential, and judicial opinions to determine the adequacy of traditional systems for protecting copyright in protecting works generated by artificial intelligence.
