الملخص
This academic paper examines the phenomenon of electronic rumors (e-rumors) as one of the most dangerous sociological manifestations of contemporary digital society. Through a rigorous sociological analysis grounded in the theoretical frameworks of legal sociology, educational sociology, and the sociology of deviance and crime, the study posits that electronic rumors have transcended their role as mere communicative disturbances; they have evolved into a systematic mechanism for destabilizing value systems and reshaping collective consciousness in an era of accelerating digital transformation. Drawing upon key theoretical constructs - including Zygmunt Bauman's concept of Liquid Modernity, Pierre Bourdieu's Social Field and Symbolic Capital, Émile Durkheim's moral sociology, and Jürgen Habermas's Theory of Communicative Action - the paper maps the sociological dynamics through which e-rumors are produced, circulated, and normalized. It further examines their corrosive impact on moral and social value systems within Arab societies specifically. The study concludes that electronic rumors constitute a form of collective epistemic deviance, generating what the author terms 'axiological disorder' - a systemic erosion of moral compasses across social strata. This reality necessitates urgent, multidimensional interventions at the legislative, educational, and communal levels to fortify collective value identity against the peril of moral compass loss.
