The Limits Of Econometric Modeling In Environmental Analysis: A Comparative Approach To Empirical Findings

Authors : Mokaddem Tebra .

Abstract

This research explores how standard thinking aids the analysis of interactions between economic activity and environmental performance, especially in data-scarce developing countries. Using an analytical-comparative approach, it reviews five empirical studies on economic growth, carbon emissions, energy use, and environmental quality. The study highlights the problems, methods, data, and key findings of these studies. Results show that the relationship between economic growth and environmental degradation is neither linear nor constant, depending on energy structure and policy effectiveness. Despite limited direct empirical estimates, the research provides valuable insights for understanding environmental issues and guiding public policy. .
