Evaluating Electronic Payment Systems In Algeria: Challenges And Prospects Within The Digital Economy

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the use of electronic payment systems in Algeria within the framework of digital economy development. The study covers the period 2018–2024, analyzing adoption levels, regulatory measures, and consumer behavior. Findings reveal significant progress in infrastructure and awareness, yet persistent challenges remain, including trust issues, limited coverage, and technological gaps. The study highlights the importance of enhancing digital trust and financial inclusion to strengthen the role of e-payment in Algeria’s economic prospects.
