Mechanisms For The Prevention And Combating Of Irregular Migration In The Maghreb Countries: Reality And Aspirations

Abstract

The subject of the study aims to shed light on one of the most important current issues in Algeria and the Maghreb region, which is irregular migration, the aspects of which are numerous. However, on the occasion of this study, we will focus on the 'legal mechanisms' that are characterized by a repressive and punitive nature. We will also address some of the preventive mechanisms that are more flexible compared to the former, with the aim of determining the effectiveness of the mechanisms allocated to confronting the phenomenon of 'irregular migration' and finding solutions that would curb the rates of migration and push them towards decline. All of this will be the subject of discussion in the study titled 'Mechanisms for the Prevention and Combating of Irregular Migration in the Maghreb Countries: Reality and Aspirations.
