Abstract: This study examines Algeria’s security policy with a particular focus on cybersecurity as a fundamental component of national defense. It highlights the transition from a traditional state-centered security model toward a more comprehensive approach that prioritizes the protection of individuals and society. Through an analysis of legal reforms, institutional arrangements, and technological measures, the study assesses Algeria’s capacity to address digital threats. The findings show the establishment of specialized bodies, supportive cybercrime and data protection legislation, and investments in human capital and digital infrastructure, including AI-based tools. However, the study emphasizes the need for enhanced innovation, research, and international cooperation to strengthen national cybersecurity resilience.
