This study aims to highlight the quality of life in Algeria through the Human Development Index (HDI), which seeks to evaluate the overall standard and quality of life, as well as the Social Progress Index (SPI), which measures the country’s ability to meet its citizens’ basic needs and enhance their quality of life through social and environmental indicators. These indices collectively contribute to promoting sustainable development in its social, environmental, and economic dimensions. The study also addresses the unemployment rate in Algeria, concluding that unemployment has a negative impact on both quality of life and sustainable development, representing one of the most significant challenges facing the country. Accordingly, the study recommends that governments and private institutions increase efforts to provide employment and training opportunities th rough vocational education and lifelong learning programs, aimed at improving workers’ skills and enhancing access to well-paid jobs. Furthermore, it calls for strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors to generate new job opportunities in emerging and growing industries, thereby supporting inclusive and sustainable socio-economic progress.
