This study aims to highlight the role of artificial intelligence applications in the development of auditing practices through an analytical study of the Big Four firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG), given their global leadership in accounting and auditing and their advanced reliance on AI technologies, which makes them a suitable model for research. The study found that the Big Four firms employ various AI-based techniques in auditing activities, contributing to a reduction in task execution time by 60% to 90%, which reflects the substantial impact and effectiveness of these technologies in enhancing audit quality during the period from 2018 to 2023, positively affecting the efficiency and reliability of financial reporting. With the rapid development of AI, it has become necessary to establish new guidelines and standards to ensure its responsible use in line with ethics, regulations, and accounting and auditing standards.
