Towards An Effective Training Program: Investigating In-service Efl Teachers' Challenges During The Training Process. Case Of Secondary School Efl Teachers In Bejaia.

Abstract

The current research aims to investigate the in-service secondary school EFL teachers' challenges during the training process. Furthermore, the study analyzes the extent to which these challenges compromise the efficiency of the training process. To achieve the research aims, in-service secondary school EFL teachers in Bejaia city were surveyed to share their training experiences, using a likert scale questionnaire. Adopting a quantitative approach, the collected data were analyzed using SPSS. The results revealed that the participants faced many problems mainly an imbalance between theoretical knowledge and its practical implementations, insufficient collaboration opportunities and outdated program content. Therefore, these findings propose a need for a systematic and regular review of the training program components based on trainees' perceptions
