The Role Of Emotional Education (ee) In Reducing School Phobia Among Algerian Children.

Authors : El Hassani Ibtissem . Boualli Badia .

Abstract

his paper aims to analyze the potential role of emotional education in reducing school phobia among Algerian children through a descriptive-analytical approach. It explores the conceptual foundations of emotional education as articulated in the works of Goleman, Mayer and Salovey, and connects these perspectives with psychological theories of fear, resilience, and attachment. Drawing upon cross-disciplinary frameworks -Bandura’s social learning theory, Lazarus’s cognitive appraisal model, and Bowlby’s attachment theory- this paper critically examines how emotional education can foster adaptive coping and decrease school-related anxiety. It also contextualizes emotional education within the Algerian sociocultural and educational environment. The study concludes by proposing a theoretical model that situates emotional education as a preventive and restorative mechanism against school phobia.
