The year 2020 marked a period of slow economic performance for the global economy as a result of COVID-19, which affects all countries around the world through high inflation, unemployment, income, taxation, and health-care systems. This paper seeks to analyze the influence of macroeconomic factors, including inflation and exchange rates, on economic growth and to present whether the COVID-19 crisis has an effect on the GDP of some MENA countries (Algeria, Bahrain, Morocco, Iran, Tunisia, and Saudi Arabia) during the period from 1990 to 2022. The findings demonstrated that inflation and COVID-19 negatively impact economic growth, but the exchange rate has no significant impact. This research offers valuable insights for policymakers aiming to enhance economic growth by focusing on macroeconomic variables. It is vital for them to take these practical findings into account when developing effective economic strategies for both the short and long term. Furthermore, understanding the impact of COVID-19 on the development policies of MENA countries is essential.
