The Language is not merely a means of communication; it is an essential tool in the construction and advancement of science. It has played a fundamental and pivotal role in shaping ways of thinking throughout the ages. The Greek philosopher Aristotle was among the first to discover the importance of language as a tool for logical thinking and the organization of knowledge. He established the rules of logic to govern philosophical and scientific thinking. He also emphasized the importance of precisely defining terms to contribute to the construction of clear and organized mental models. He used his linguistic and logical research to classify and divide the sciences according to the purpose each science pursues. He thus established a theoretical and methodological framework to organize the fields of human thought, which helped guide scientific and philosophical research. Each science has its own scope, tools, and method. Accordingly, he separated physics from mathematics. The former studies tangible material substances that move and rest by themselves, and its method is the sensory observation of natural phenomena. Mathematics, on the other hand, studies inanimate and abstract entities. It studies its subjects independently of the properties of natural objects. Therefore, research into nature is limited to the framework of qualitative, descriptive language. However, tracing the intellectual path of the makers of the scientific revolution, which led to the formation of the structure of the modern scientific mind, confirms their severance from the language of quality used by Aristotle in his physical research, and their adoption of the language of quantity. This transition from a descriptive qualitative language to a quantitative language produced a new intellectual framework and an epistemological paradigm based primarily on a radical and decisive shift at the conceptual level, from geocentrism to heliocentrism, from the circle to the ellipse, and from rest to motion. This conceptual shift produced many modern scientific laws, such as the law of falling bodies, the law of inertia, and the law of areas. These gradual discoveries, which were based primarily on the language of quantity, served as the theoretical and intellectual tools that paved the way for Newton's work and formed the solid foundation upon which he formulated his physical laws, especially the law of gravitation. Therefore, tracing the intellectual paths of the great physicists and astronomers of the 16th and 17th centuries confirms the role of language in the development of human knowledge, its intellectual breakthroughs, and the emergence of its theories. Our research paper aims to trace the scientific paths taken by scientists to formulate a scientific law of gravitation with Newton.
