Cohesion In Arabic Figurative Style: Investigation Of Some Considerations In Figurative Language From A Textual Perspective

Abstract

Abstract This research introduces a textual approach to Arabic figurative language through a basic characteristic of text semantics or text linguistics, namely cohesion. The research tracks the relationship of the words in a text to one another (which is the essence of cohesion) in a number of examples of Arabic figurative language, and figures out the effective role of figurative language in achieving cohesion from ancient Arab rhetoricians’ perspective, in addition to its role in improving text quality ملخص: هذا البحث عبارة عن محاولة لمقاربة البديع العربي مقاربة نصية، من خلال قضية أساسية من قضايا نحو النص أو لسانيات النص، وهي قضية السبك النصي؛ حيث يتتبع تعلُق كلمات النص بعضها ببعض، -وهذا هو المعنى الموجز للسبك النصي- في بعض مظاهر البديع العربي، والتعرف على الاشتغال الفعلي لبعض مسائل ذلك البديع في إحداث السبك النصي من منظور البلاغيين العرب القدماء، إضافة إلى دورها التحسيني.
