This study aims to analyze the state of energy security in Algeria by examining the economic and geopolitical stakes, as well as the structural challenges facing the country's energy sector. It also explores Algeria’s potential to transition toward renewable energy and sustainability. The findings reveal that despite Algeria’s substantial oil and gas reserves and immense solar and wind potential, the country is still slow in implementing energy transition strategies. The study recommends reforming energy governance, boosting investments in renewable energy, and fostering international partnerships—especially with the European Union—to ensure long-term energy security.
