In this article, we aim to address Mohammed Arkoun's ethical thought, based on his chosen critical stance, namely the critique of Islamic reason. In this regard, our goal is to clarify the direction of this critique with regard to the ethical aspect. Another goal is to evaluate the results of this critique. In fact, the approach we have put forward has shown us that Arkoun's position, despite its boldness and depth, is far from being creative. This is because, as it appears to us, he did not truly come close to investing in the Quranic values that expressed a distinct Islamic way of thinking. In this, we have followed the critical analytical approach
