Algeria is trying to drive its foreign trade sector to the level at which it will thrive and eliminate all the obstacles that keep it from prospering, following the developed countries in this regard. Among the measures by Algeria to promote the sector is customs modernization in an attempt to adapt to economic conditions overseas. Thus, the current research highlights the instrumental function of customs modernization through digitization in the context of enhancing efficiency in foreign trade. It points out that digitization is a key catalyst for optimizing export operations in the non-hydrocarbon sector and refers to the most significant achievements of digitization in Algerian customs and the fallacies of adopting modern technologies and practices in an attempt to close the gap.
