Abstract: This study seeks to approache amin maalouf leo africanus by exploring the dialectic between narrative identity and the human dimension within the novel. the text is not limited to a historical tale recounting the journey of a singular character rather it transcends this frame to pose profound questions about identity in the context of cultural and historical transformations and about how the self negotiates its relationship with the other .the analysis reveals that the narrative adopts a universal human perspective. in wiche the individual experience becomes a horizon for understanding civilizational plurality and cultural coexistence.this grants the novel a dimension that surpasses geographical boundaries. It thus raises a fundamental question:should identity be given a humanistic dimension-on that enables identities to interact in the service of a shared human purpose-or should it be viewed as a defense of one identity against another? Keywords: narrative identity; human dimension novel; leo africanus; ,amin maalouf.
