The banking sector suffers from slow growth in credit granted to the private sector (a decline to 18.8% in 2023) and the dominance of a cash culture, despite the noticeable acceleration in electronic payments. It asserts that Open Banking is the optimal solution for dismantling data monopolies and stimulating cooperation between banks and FinTech companies. Nevertheless, adoption efforts face fundamental challenges: the absence of a unified legal framework to regulate data sharing via APIs, privacy and security risks, and low digital awareness. Consequently, the study recommends expediting the implementation of specialized legislation, developing data protection laws, and adopting unified technical standards to ensure successful application.
