Musculoskeletal injuries are a major challenge in professional football, affecting both the physical condition of players and team performance. These injuries are often linked to factors such as training overload, inadequate recovery and vitamin deficiency, leading to long-term consequences for players’ careers. A study of 30 Division 2 football players in Algeria found that common injuries were linked to accumulated fatigue, nutritional deficiencies and insufficient recovery. In particular, deficiencies in B vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids were associated with an increased risk of injury. The study confirms that proper management of training loads, recovery and nutrition can significantly reduce the risk of injury. Research into training load, playing surfaces and medical history further reinforces these findings.
