الملخص
Abstract: Economic partnership and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) are fundamental pillars of contemporary international economic relations. However, the conceptual overlap between them can lead to analytical and legal ambiguity. This article aims to provide a precise conceptual grounding for these two terms and delineate their boundaries. Using a doctrinal and conceptual-analytical legal method, the study first defines economic partnership and classifies its main legal forms (contractual, equity, and public-private partnerships). It then proceeds to define FDI, extracting its core characteristics that distinguish it from other capital flows, primarily the elements of effective control and duration. The article concludes that a clear distinction between these concepts is not merely an academic exercise but a methodological necessity for the proper understanding and application of international investment law and for determining the scope of protection afforded by international investment agreements.
