The Role Of Sse Initiatives And Local Authorities In Promoting Sustainable Tourism In Algeria: Illustrated By The Thyzza Village Of Boumerdès

Abstract
Territorial development enhances resources by involving many stakeholders. Sustainable tourism aims for the active participation of local communities in the tourism sector in order to achieve sustainable development. In Algeria, associations and local authorities are involved in promoting sustainable tourism through programs that ensure the preservation of local culture, environmental protection, and community income generation. This study examines the role of these actors in the development of sustainable tourism. A qualitative methodology based on semi-structured interviews conducted with various stakeholders at the local level was applied to determine the various actions taken. We analyzed the involvement of these stakeholders in promoting sustainable tourism and concluded that there are initiatives aimed at promoting the culture of sustainable tourism in the Wilaya of Boumerdès.
