Writing for adolescents shares several features with writing for adults. The adolescent is a transitional figure who has begun to emerge from childhood but still retains childlike emotions and imaginative tendencies. They carry fresh, idealized meanings characteristic of childhood, unshaped by adult complexities. At this stage, adolescents dream of ideals, love, friendship, generosity, heroism, and emotional attachment to the homeland—dimensions that reflect their inner world. At the same time, they gradually become aware of less favorable human traits such as betrayal, deception, and rejection—concepts that rarely entered their imagination before and that adults often consider beyond their cognitive grasp. Even so, adolescents approach such ideas through the lens of their idealism, without probing them in depth. Thus, as they recognize love and friendship, they also contemplate betrayal and treachery; as they form an understanding of the homeland, they also confront notions of loyalty and disloyalty; and as they experience work and generosity, they also encounter neglect and indifference. In this context, two central research questions arise: What are the value-based dimensions that the novel seeks to instill in adolescents? How does the novel reflect the transformations of belonging—whether identity-based, spatial, or emotional—within ongoing social, cultural, and political changes
