Discourses are based on a message conveyed by the sender to the recipient. The message relies on a set of aims and objectives. However, the objectives may be explicit, derived from the language of the text, or implicit, derived from the text and context. When the recipient receives the message, the process of decoding the message is subject to a set of data, enabling them to identify the sender's objectives. According to De Beaugrande and Dressler, this is closely linked to two criteria: cohesion and coherence. Therefore, the author of a text must produce a grammatically and semantically coherent text that can express the objectives they intend to convey to the recipient. There is no doubt that the Qur'anic discourse is at the level of miraculousness with regard to cohesion and coherence. Therefore, in this research, we seek to study intentionality in Qur'anic discourse and the conditions for identifying and attaining it, in light of the mechanisms provided by modern linguistic studies
