Abstract: This study seeks to identify the words that denote rain in the Qur'an and pre-Islamic poetry and analyze their contexts in both, while exploring the similarities and differences between them and attempting to interpret these findings. The study utilized an inductive and analytical approach, surveying the words related to rain in the Qur'an and pre-Islamic poetry, analyzing their meanings and contexts, and then identifying and interpreting the similarities and differences. The study concluded that, although there are shared words between the Qur'an and pre-Islamic poetry regarding rain, the Qur'an brought about a significant evolution in the use of these words, reflecting its unique vision, which contrasted with that of the pre-Islamic poet. It also introduced new terms to indicate rain that were absent from pre-Islamic poetry. Furthermore, the contexts in which the Qur'an used rain-related words were distinct, as the Qur'an employed them to serve its divine vision, unlike the contexts observed in pre-Islamic poetry.
