Autism is one of the most complex mental disorders affecting individuals. Despite its various symptoms, which differ from case to case, it is classified as a chronic condition with no definitive cure. However, support and intervention remain key methods in helping individuals with autism develop their skills, reduce symptoms, and attain a level of independence that facilitates their integration into society. This presentation will address these aspects. Education is a critical process for social integration. While schooling is a typical stage in the lives of neurotypical children, it presents a challenging and complex experience for children with autism, even in developed countries. In Algeria, this stage remains particularly prolonged for children with such disabilities. This presentation will explore the challenges of educating children with autism in Algeria through a case study of a girl named Maria.
