Abstract

Abstract: Tourism industry can play an important role in the developement of the Algerian economy and the promotion of its population welfare. The development of such industry needs first of all the analyze of its demand in order to figure out the deteminants of tourism demand which help in the design of supply strategy and make policies to attract tourists. Tourism demand is measured generally by the number of tourists arrivals and explained with several variables; so for each country specific model of tourism demand. The issue of multicollinearity involve sometimes a high correlation between variables, thats why a regularization method can be applied such as LASSO, RIDGE and Elastic Net to solve this problem. An application of these three methods on the Algerian data (1991-2023) aim to evaluate their performance in handling multicollinearity. The results reveal that RIDGE regression is the best performing model comparing to LASSO and Elastic Net. The results of the Ridge regularization method demonstrate that population, GDP, foreign investment and bed capacity have a positive significant effect on the Algerian tourism demand, excepting for exchange rate, which has a negative influence. ملخص : تلعب الصناعه السياحيه دورا مهما في تطوير الاقتصاد الجزائري. تطوير هذه الصناعة في الجزائر يتطلب دراسة الطلب السياحي أولا اذ يعتبر من اهم محددات استراتجيات العرض و القوانين المحددة له. يقاس الطلب السياحي عموما ب "عدد السياح" الذي يفسر عن طريق متغيرات مختلفة " الدخل- عدد السكان- الأسعار- سعر الصرف- القدرة السريرية" و هذا ما يفسر اختلاف النماذج من بلد لاخر. تتضمن مسألة التعدد الخطي في بعض الأحيان ارتباطًا كبيرًا بين المتغيرات، ولهذا السبب يمكن تطبيق تقنيات التنظيم مثل LASSO وRIDGE وElastic Net لحل هذه المشكلة. ويهدف تطبيق هذه الأساليب الثلاثة على البيانات الجزائرية (1991-2023) إلى تقييم أدائها في التعامل مع التعدد الخطي. تكشف النتائج أن انحدار RIDGE هو النموذج الأفضل أداءً مقارنةً بـ LASSO وElastic Net. وتظهر نتائج أسلوب التنظيم التلالي أن عدد السكان والناتج المحلي الإجمالي والاستثمار الأجنبي و سعة الأسرة لها تأثير إيجابي كبير على الطلب السياحي الجزائري، باستثناء سعر الصرف الذي له .تأثير سلبي
