الملخص
تسعى هذه الورقة البحثية إلى إجراء تحليل دقيق لموضوع بالغ الأهمية، وقد شغل مكانة مركزية في الخطاب الفكري بين مجموعة متنوعة من العلماء والفلاسفة والقادة الدينيين عبر التاريخ، وهو يتناول الطبيعة المعقدة للعلاقة القائمة بين الدين والعلم خلال العصور الوسطى الأوروبية. وبشكل محدد، تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى توضيح ما إذا كانت هذه العلاقة قد اتسمت بالتحدي أو بالتكامل. تتمثل الأهداف الرئيسية لهذه الدراسة في: أولاً، دراسة ما إذا كان الدين قد شكل عائقاً أمام التقدم العلمي خلال العصور الوسطى، وثانياً، استكشاف مدى تأثيره كعامل محفز للتقدم العلمي. لمعالجة هذا الموضوع، اعتمدنا على مناهج وصفية وتحليلية ونقدية للتفاعل مع المواد العلمية ذات الصلة. ومن المتوقع أن تسلط النتائج الرئيسية الضوء على تعقيدات هذه العلاقة، مشيرة إلى أن التفاعل بين الدين والعلم قد شهد فترات تذبذبات من التوتر والصراع، وفترات من التناغم والتكامل. كما يُحتمل أن تستمر هذه العلاقة والمتعددة الأبعاد طوال الوجالديناميكية ود البشري، متطورة مع كل تقدم جديد في فهمنا للبحث العلمي والمعتقدات الدينية.بين Abstract: This research paper seeks to undertake a thorough examination of a subject of immense and significant importance that has occupied a central place in the intellectual discourse among a diverse array of scholars, philosophers, and religious leaders throughout history: it scrutinizes the complex nature of the relationship that existed between religion and science during the European Middle Ages. Specifically, we aim to elucidate whether this relationship was characterized by confrontation or complementarity. Our primary objectives in this study are twofold: first, to ascertain whether religion functioned as an impediment to scientific advancement during the Middle Ages, and second, to explore the extent to which it may have acted as a catalyst for scientific progress. To investigate this topic, we employ descriptive, analytical, and critical methodologies to engage with the subject matter.
