Abstract
The present study aims to examine the impact of social transfer allocations on the balance of the public budget of Algeria over the period 2007-2023, using a quantitative approach by employing the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The study found that social transfer allocations have a significant impact on the balance of the public budget of Algeria. Where in the long run, an increase in the volume of social transfers by 1% leads to a decline in the financial position of the government by 0.87%. The study also revealed that there is a statistically significant positive effect (P less than % 5) of social transfer allocations on the balance of the public budget in Algeria in the short term; this is due to the stimulation of economic activity in Algeria through increasing domestic demand and its impact on other economic variables in the short term.
