Algerian society, like other societies around the world, suffers from the phenomenon of crime. For this reason, the present study focused on security-oriented journalistic investigations in the Algerian media. Due to the difficulty of obtaining sufficient information on various crimes directly from their direct sources, we analyzed the content of ten episodes of the program “Investigating Crime” on El Bilad TV. Our aim was to identify the main themes addressed by security-oriented journalistic investigations, the different key figures featured in the program, the journalistic formats and genres employed in these investigations, the persuasive tools used in the program, and the various news values leveraged to capture viewers’ attention. We also sought to examine the primary objectives that the “Investigating Crime” program aims to achieve.
