Freedom Of The Press And Media Ethics In Light Of Local And International Changes

Authors : Ziam Sara .

Abstract

Media is considered extremely important in our modern era, as people are in constant need of following events and news at any time and from any place. This is due to the spread of education on one hand, and the development of technology on the other. The increasing use of various types and forms of media—such as radio, television, satellite channels, the internet, newspapers, and magazines—has made the dissemination of information faster and more efficient. Media has a significant influence in shaping public opinion through both traditional and modern means, and it is regarded as an agent of change. The impact of media becomes especially clear when a society enjoys freedom of expression, which refers to the right to publish information, ideas, and opinions without government restrictions. This freedom encourages the spread of ideas that support informed and accurate decision-making on public affairs and social interests.
