الملخص
يتفق الباحثون حاليا و دون أدنى شك أن المقاطعة النوميدية تأسست مع إعتلاء الإمبراطور سيبتيميوس سيفيروس عرش الإمبراطوريّة بداية من عام 193م ، وأول نقيشة تذكرها كمقاطعة تعود لعام 208 م. لكن و من خلال الشواهد الأثرية يبدو أن عام 208 ليس عام التأسيس، هذا العام الذي حاول الباحثون تحديده والذي قد يكون قبل 208م منها محاولة الباحث لوقلي الذي أرجعه إلى عام 197م و هي الفرضية التي لاقت ترحيبا كبيرا و دون إجماع. كما لا يزال الغموض يكتنف أسباب التأسيس وظروفه التي سأحاول تقديم بعضها حيث يبدو أن تأسيس المقاطعة لم يكن حدثا كبيرا حيث سكت عنه في المصادرالتاريخية المعاصرة للفترة السيفيرية وحتى النقائش لم تجعل منها حدثا مرجعيا و أساسيا، سأختتم المقال بمسألة الحدود التي قمت بتحديدها حسب ما جاء في الدراسات خاصة منها الجنوبية التي لا تزال غامضة حول بعض المواقع جنوب البروقنصلية. Researchers currently agree without a doubt that the Numidian province was founded with the accession of Emperor Septimius Severus to the .throne of the empire starting in 193 AD. The first inscription mentioning it as a province dates back to 208 AD. However, through archaeological evidence, it seems that 208 is not the year of foundation. This year, which researchers have tried to determine, may have been before 208 AD, including the attempt of researcher Le Glay, who traced it back to 197 AD, a hypothesis that was widely welcomed but without consensus. The reasons and circumstances of the founding are still shrouded in mystery, some of which I will try to present, as it seems that the founding of the province was not a major event, as it was silent in the historical sources contemporary to the Severan period, and even the inscriptions did not make it a reference and fundamental event. I will conclude the article with the issue of the borders that I have determined according to what was stated in the studies, especially the southern ones, which are still vague about some sites south of the Proconsulate
