Abstract

This study aims to analyze the economic role of the Social Security Fund through the optimal utilization of contributions collected from its affiliates, including workers and companies. The analysis involves examining the evolution of reforms introduced to the social security system during previous periods and their impact on the funding sources of the Social Security Fund, as well as their subsequent effects on the fund’s revenues and expenditures in Algeria. Furthermore, the study explores the potential to enhance the economic role of these funds by activating mechanisms to invest their resources for sustainable development. The study reached several conclusions, most notably the necessity of amending and establishing laws that contribute to reforming the funding sources of the Social Security Fund on the one hand, and transforming these funds into entities capable of employing and investing their resources based on their structure and financial autonomy.
